Eminence edges Stanberry for boys Class 1 title

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Hunter Adams scored 24 points and Cole Keeling blocked a potential game-winning shot as time expired, lifting Eminence to a 62-60 victory Saturday over Stanberry in the Class 1 Boys Championship.

Trailing 62-59 with 6.5 seconds remaining, Stanberry's Jacob Heddinger drew an intentional foul dribbling past midcourt and made one of two free throws to get within two. Heddinger then received the ensuing inbounds pass and handed the ball to Cole Gage, whose 3-point attempt at the buzzer was rejected by Keeling.

Adams' conventional three-point play with 1:31 left put the Red Wings (27-5) ahead 58-55.

Reid Osborn finished with 14 points for Stanberry (23-8), which trailed from the 5:15 mark of the first quarter until Daniel Hailey's fadeaway jumper with 7:33 remaining tied the score at 44.
