The HALO Foundation's Fifth Annual Artreach Auction will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Capitol Plaza Hotel.
The evening, with a theme of love, includes a live and silent art auction, cocktails, heavy hors d'oeurvres and live music, with all proceeds benefiting HALO-supported orphans at the Mengo Home in Kampala, Uganda and Halo's Jefferson City Learning Center.
"This is our major fundraiser for HALO and helps with our goal of helping art liberate orphans," said Laura Morris, director of marketing and public relations with HALO.
The HALO Foundation is "committed to enhancing the living conditions and providing art therapy for orphans worldwide."
The Artreach auction includes art pieces from various area artists, such as Kathleen Stroup and Daniel Howeth. It also includes art from the orphans in Uganda, as well as art from area high school and elementary students.
Morris said in the past the evening has raised $25,000-$29,000.
The Artreach Auction is sponsored by Jefferson City Medical Group Laser and Vein Center, Capital Mall and Central Bank.
Guests are encouraged to wear cocktail attire.
Entire tables can be purchased at the auction for $500, otherwise, tickets are $30 and can be purchased at www.haloworldwide.org or by mailing a check to HALO JC Learning Center, 1015 E. Atchison St., Jefferson City, MO, 65101.
