Zonta Club tabs 15 nominees

The Zonta Club of Jefferson City announced the 2013 Women of Achievement nominees.

This year's nominees are: Ann Bax, president, United Way of Central Missouri; Cynthia Blosser, broker, Cynthia Blosser Real Estate; Deb Brown, owner, Prison Brews and Brew House Coffee; Ann Carmichael, vice president, Vitae Foundation; Gwen Gevecker, retired nurse and director of licensed practical nursing, Nichols Career Center; Claudia Goodin, Missouri Farm Bureau; Cassandra Gould, pastor, Quinn Chapel AME Church; Connie Hamacher, interim president, Lincoln University; Brenda Hatfield, president, Hatfield Training and Consulting; Lois Heldenbrand, assistant professor, Lincoln University; Sandy Karsten, lieutenant colonel, Missouri State Highway Patrol; Christie Kincannon, chief counsel, Missouri Division of Finance; Marlene Medin, program director, Linn State Technical College; Evelyn Peterman, Franciscan Sister of Mary; and Anita Randolph, retired director, Division of Energy Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

The annual Yellow Rose luncheon to honor all 15 nominees and the winning two women will be May 7 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel. A Women's Expo featuring numerous businesses owned and operated by women, or focusing on women, will be held prior to the luncheon. Tickets are $35 per person and will go on sale to the general public in mid-March.
