JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - The Missouri House has approved an additional $218 million in state spending during the current budget year, which runs through June.
Thursday's 147-2 vote in favor of the supplemental budget sends it to the state Senate.
The measure includes about $23 million from general state tax revenues, with much of the remainder coming from the federal government.
Funding was not set aside for a supplemental budget when the operating budget was approved last May. There is money to pay for a supplemental budget because state revenues have been higher than initially expected.
