Iberia teen killed in early Saturday wreck

An Iberia teen died early Saturday after being injured in a one-vehicle accident in Miller County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said Collin J. Colvin, 15, was pronounced dead at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, at 3:02 a.m.

He wasn't using a seat belt, troopers said, when the westbound 2002 Ford Windstar van he was riding in ran off the left side of Curry Road, went through two fences and overturned.

The van was driven by Jacob V. Ponder, 15, Dixon, who also wasn't using a seat belt but suffered only minor injuries.

Troopers said the accident happened at 12:24 a.m., a quarter-mile east of Route U in Miller County - northwest of Crocker and southeast of Brumley.

There was no report of any charges being filed in the case on Saturday.
