Oriakhi drafted by Phoenix; Pressey, Bowers undrafted

One Missouri Tiger heard his named called during Thursday night's NBA draft. And it wasn't the one you'd expect.

Alex Oriakhi was selected by the Phoenix Suns with the 57th overall pick, three picks before the end of the draft.

Oriakhi, in his one season at Missouri, averaged 11.2 points and 8.4 rebounds. The forward shot 64 percent from the field and blocked 1.6 shots per game.

Phil Pressey, an early draft entrant after leaving Missouri following his junior season, went undrafted. Thirteen point guards heard their names called Thursday, leaving Pressey as an odd man out.

Pressey averaged 11.9 points and and a career-high 7.1 assists. On the other hand, the diminutive guard's 3.5 turnovers per game was also a career high.

Laurence Bowers, a third Tiger with draft aspirations, didn't hear his name called. The forward averaged 14.1 points and 6.1 rebounds during the 2012-13 season.
