Columbia police investigate fatal shooting of JC man

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Police in Columbia say the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old Jefferson City man appears to have been drug-related.

Officers were called to a shopping center parking lot late Sunday and found the man outside a vehicle, unconscious and suffering multiple gunshot wounds. He later died at a hospital.

The victim was identified Monday as Anthony M. Unger, of the Jefferson City area.

Investigators said narcotics were found at the scene. They don't believe the shooting was random or connected to three others in Columbia since June 14. None of the other shootings were fatal.
