Police seek suspect in Jefferson City robbery

Just after midnight, Thursday, Jefferson City police responded to a strong armed robbery at Breaktime, 1940 West Main Street. According to the caller, the suspect forced open the drawer of the cash register when it was opened for a transaction and grabbed cash, then fled the area on foot. The caller, a clerk at Breaktime, pursued the suspect, who ran eastbound on West Main Street near Jordan Street, where the clerk discontinued chase.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early to middle 20's, about 5'9" tall, and weighing approximately 160 pounds. He was wearing a silver chain, yellow shirt, and gray pants. A picture of the suspect is attached to this release.

The suspect did not display a weapon, and no one was hurt during the robbery.

Police were looking for a suspect who ran away after an early morning robbery at a Jefferson City convenience store.

Officers responded around 12:05 a.m. to Break Time, 1940 W. Main St., where a man reportedly stole money from the cash register and fled the store on foot. He did not display a weapon, according to initial reports.

Police described the suspect as a black male, 20-25 years old, 5'9" to 5'11" tall, 150-160 pounds, wearing a torn yellow shirt and gray pants. He was last seen fleeing on foot in the 1900 block of West Main.
