Slow but positive start to NB Farmer's Market

A cold, rainy spring has meant a slow start for produce growers across Callaway County, but while the New Bloomfield Farmers Market hasn't been immune, it's still had plenty to offer.

Baked and canned goods, plants, herbs and other items have all flown off booth shelves at the weekly event. Arthur Rice of the New Bloomfield Area Civic Association said the weather the past few years has curbed enthusiasm, but there's still a dedicated group of vendors and shoppers.

Members of the New Bloomfield and Callaway communities can buy goods and visit with neighbors 7:30-11:30 a.m. Saturdays across from the middle school on Redwood Drive. For information, call 573-491-3505 or 573-642-3411.
