Flood of 2013 reaches No. 9

The Missouri River at Jefferson City crested at 30.79 feet at 5 p.m. Sunday, high enough to be ninth on the National Weather Service list of historical crests, displacing the 30.59 feet recorded on June 8, 2001.

By 8 p.m. Monday, the river had fallen a foot to 29.7 feet. It's predicted to fall below the 23-foot flood stage by 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The record level at Jefferson City was 38.65 feet, set on July 30, 1993.

The second highest flood level at Jefferson City was 34.20 feet, on July 18, 1951.

The third highest was 33.50 feet, on June 6, 1903.

And the fourth highest was 33.05 feet, on May 19, 1995.
