Linn man placed on probation in burglary cases

A Linn man was placed on five years supervised probation after pleading guilty to multiple burglary counts from 2011.

Justin Silvey, 26, was charged in Cole County with one count of first-degree burglary and three counts of second-degree burglary.

Probable cause statements from the Cole County Sheriff's Department said Silvey broke into a residence in the 1800 block of Route M, taking numerous electronic items.

Authorities also linked Silvey to:

• A burglary in the 2200 block of Melody Drive where a safe, shoes, jewelry and a wallet were taken.

• A break-in at a residence in the 8400 block of Big Meadows; a safe, TV and 20 pairs of sunglasses were taken.

• A break-in at a home in the 4500 block of Randall Street where jewelry and guns were taken.

The stolen items were recovered in Silvey's car and house in Linn.
