COLUMBIA, Mo. - James Franklin will get a chance to work with the best.
The Missouri senior quarterback will serve as a camp counselor at the Manning Passing Academy, a football camp operated by Archie, Eli and Peyton Manning, starting today and running through Sunday in Thibodaux, La.
In his two seasons as the Tigers' starting quarterback, Franklin has amassed 4,427 yards passing to go along with 31 touchdown passes, while scoring 15 rushing touchdowns.
After a stellar sophomore season that saw Franklin throw for 2,865 yards and 21 touchdowns, while rushing for 981 more yards and 15 touchdowns, an injury-plagued junior season saw Franklin's numbers dip considerably. Franklin tossed for just 1,562 yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing for 122 yards and zero touchdowns.
Franklin will accompany head coach Gary Pinkel to the 2013 SEC Media Days in Hoover, Ala., appearing on Tuesday, July 16, with fellow seniors L'Damian Washington and Andrew Wilson.
