"Linotype," a documentary about the role of the linotype in the history of printing, will be shown at a free screening at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Missouri River Regional Library, 214 Adams St.
The feature-length documentary was directed and produced by Doug Wilson.
The showing is co-sponsored by the library and Central Missouri Newspapers Inc.
Following the movie, Roman Patten will host a question-and-answer session.
Patten, who retired from the News Tribune as its business manager, began his career in the production department during the era of the linotype and hot-metal printing.
The public is invited to attend this free showing and to learn more about this time-intensive, and sometimes dangerous, period of the printing industry.
