A pair of former Missouri Tigers trying to make it in the NBA squared off in a summer league game Tuesday with vastly different results.

Phil Pressey, trying to make the Boston Celtics roster, scored 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting to lead the Celtics to a 93-63 victory against the Detroit Pistons.

His former teammate Kim English wasn't quite so lucky. The second-year player had just one point on 0-of-8 shooting and had three turnovers.

While English played all of last season with the Pistons, Pressey likely needs a strong showing in the summer league just to make the Celtics. He was not drafted and signed a free-agent contract with the Celtics a few days after the draft.

In two summer league games this season Pressey has 22 points on 9-of-15 shooing. While he has eight assists, he's also committed nine turnovers, a point of contention last season at Missouri.

The summer league in Orlando, Fla., runs through Friday.
