Man who took from nephew's piggy bank gets 7 years

CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A St. Louis County man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for crimes that included stealing more than $500 from his 4-year-old nephew's piggy bank.

KSDK-TV (http://on.ksdk.com/12DKPtY ) reports that 31-year-old Baron Calmese was sentenced Monday. He had pleaded guilty in two cases.

Investigators say Calmese asked to borrow two dollars in quarters from his sister while visiting her house. She told him to get the eight quarters from the piggy bank.

But police say Calmese emptied the bank instead and spent the boy's money on drugs and prostitutes.

Calmese also pleaded guilty to an unrelated burglary and stealing case. Both crimes happened last year.
