Dear Editor:
Throughout the 1950s, '60s, '70s, and most of the '80s I thought that the Washington Republicans were roll-over artists and if you would have observed what they said and did, that is the only explanation that would have explained their positions. In a previous letter I mentioned a quote from Gov. George Wallace, while campaigning for president in 1968, that there "wasn't a dimes worth of difference" between the Washington Democrats and Republicans.
If you have bothered to listen to any of the testimony of Hillary Clinton or John Kerry, there is no other explanation of the Republicans and their questions. Most of the elected representatives give speeches rather than do their homework and ask pertinent questions of those they are questioning. Most politicians are grandstanding, so that we will think they are representing us properly.
How in the world can John Kerry be seriously considered for any position in government, let alone secretary of state? I understand that he is a senator, but when you consider that he was elected by the "people's republic of Massachusetts", you have to take that with a grain of salt. When testifying before the Senate in the 1960s he lied to those senators and the American public. In addition, he is what we in fly-over country call, one of those northeast elitist snobs. By the way Obamabots, he and his wife have more money than Mitt Romney and theirs is sheltered to reduce taxes, just like most other rich Democrats; money is. Mitt Romney has more compassion in his little finger than John Kerry has in his whole body.
To really take the cake, the Republicans didn't do a thing to enlighten anybody on Benghazi, when Hillary Clinton testified before the Senate.
They went to a gun fight with a homemade sling shot and forgot their spit wads at home! What a joke. Lawyers tell us that "you never ask a question you don't know the answer to." These guys didn't ask questions they gave speeches that will be forgotten before the ink is dry on the transcripts.
It is so sad that when we elect good people to represent us in Washington, they fall into the Washington trap and turn into just another blow hard Washington politician spending our money on useless projects and becoming wealthy in the process.
