RUSSELLVILLE, Mo. - American flags line both sides of Route C in Russellville around the holidays of Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Veterans Day.

It has become a tradition for the 20-member Troop 96 of the Boy Scouts of America, which was re-established in 2004.

The troop and Scoutmaster Jason Ford has been commended by the Christopher Casey Chapter of the Missouri Society of the Sons of the American Revolution for its "exemplary patriotism."

The local sons chapter was established in 1985 to keep alive the memory of those who served in the American Revolutionary War and also to promote the appreciation for patriotism, national symbols and American citizenship.
