Senate Judiciary Committee begins work with non-lawyer chairman

For the first time in at least 40 years, the Missouri Senate's Judiciary Committee is chaired by a non-lawyer - Sen. Bob Dixon, R-Springfield.

Senate President Pro Tem Tom Dempsey, R-St. Charles, announced the appointment last week.

"Sen. Dixon is a very detail-oriented person, and has served on the Judiciary Committee and follows those issues very closely," Dempsey told the News Tribune Tuesday.
