COLUMBIA - Missouri figures to be tested enough as it is in its first Southeastern Conference road game tonight at Mississippi.
The extra challenge is to figure out how to make up for the loss of forward Laurence Bowers.
Bowers, who leads the Tigers in scoring with more than 16 points per game, suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee during Tuesday's 82-66 win against Alabama. The 10th-ranked Tigers (12-2, 1-0 SEC) will have to find other scoring and rebounding options today when they travel to Oxford, Miss. (7 p.m., Fox Sports Midwest-TV).
"He's just one of the many key weapons that (Missouri coach Frank Haith) has at Missouri that has made them one of the top teams in the country," Mississippi head coach Andy Kennedy said.
