Suspect in couple's deaths bonds out of jail

FORSYTH, Mo. (AP) - One of five people charged with murder in the 2011 deaths of a southwest Missouri couple has bonded out of jail.

Sixty-eight-year-old Robert Campbell was indicted last month, the final suspect charged in the deaths of Russell and Rebecca Porter. Campbell was Russell Porter's uncle and lived near the couple near Willard in rural Greene County.

The Springfield News-Leader reports Campbell posted a $500,000 bond and was released Wednesday from the Taney County jail. The charges were filed in Taney County because the Porters' skeletal remains were found there in July 2011, about three months after they vanished from their home.

Campbell has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors allege he had a dispute with his nephew and caused the Porters' deaths by offering money to others to kill the couple.
