Jefferson City police are asking for the public's help in their investigation into an unusual case.
On Tuesday, at about 12:30 a.m., Jefferson City police and fire personnel responded to the 300 block of Monroe Street for a call of someone causing some type of disturbance.
When officers investigated the rooftop access areas in that block, they located a male subject who appeared to have fallen approximately 30 feet into an inaccessible area.
Due to the subject's location, officers requested assistance from the fire department to breach a door from a business that would allow medical staff direct and immediate access to the subject.
The subject, a 34 year-old Jefferson City male, was treated and transported to an area hospital, and was later flown to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia in serious condition due to the nature of the fall.
Officers conducted an investigation that morning but were unable to locate any witnesses that saw or heard anything until after the fall.
Detectives were called to investigate and have opened the case as a suspicious activity case due to the unknown reason for the fall.
They have followed up on a number of leads, but are asking anyone with any further information or knowledge of the event to contact them or to call CrimeStoppers at 659-TIPS.
At this time, it is unknown why the male subject was on the rooftop area.
