Forums on new high school plan on tap

The Jefferson City Public School District is hosting two public forums - over cookies and coffee - this week at the Miller Performing Arts Center.

The public is invited to meet with Superintendent Brian Mitchell from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday and from 7-8:30 a.m. Friday in the Miller Center's atrium.

There, listeners can learn more about the proposed new high school and how the career-academy model will work. Both events are intended to be informal discussions with time available for questions and answers. Coffee and cookies will be served.

Because attendance is limited to 40 people per session, organizers are asking participants to RSVP to both events by calling the central office at 659-3018.
