JC shooting suspects sought

After pursuing a number of leads in the shooting that occurred at Phillips 66, 807 Stadium Boulevard, on New Year's Day, Jefferson City police are looking for Daleron Monroe, who is believed to be the prime suspect in this case.

Monroe, a 26 year-old Columbia resident, was charged Wednesday with first-degree assault and armed criminal action in this case.

Monroe was observed by witnesses firing a handgun at Brandon Betts, 29, Jefferson City, who was shot in the face during the altercation.

Monroe is currently being sought by Columbia Police and other mid-Missouri law enforcement agencies.

Byron Betts, 29, Jefferson City, is also currently being sought on warrants for armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm in this case.

Store video shows Byron fired at least two shots in the gun fight with Monroe.

Brandon Betts is being held in the Cole County Jail on $100,000 bond after being charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Brandon was found to have over $2,100 in cash on his person along with 12 grams of marijuana.
