The Westminster College women are off to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second straight season.
The Blue Jays (17-10) travel to play No. 12 Simpson (25-2) at 8 p.m. Friday in Indianola, Iowa.
Two area athletes play key roles for Westminster.
Leigh Ann Lutz (California High School) stars for the the Blue Jays with a team-high 14.4 points per game. The junior has canned 73 3-pointers and shoots 86 percent from the foul line.
Sadie Theroff (Jefferson City High School) has come in off the bench in all 27 games for Westminster this season. The freshman tallies 2.6 points and has hit 19 3-pointers.
Westminster earned the automatic berth from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference by winning the conference tournament. Lutz was named the tournament MVP.
