JAMESTOWN, Mo. - The Chamois Lady Pirates cruised to the final of the Class 1 District 9 Tournament with a 43-11 semifinal victory Wednesday night against Community R-VI.
Chamois, ranked No. 8 in the final regular-season Class 1 state poll, held an 8-5 lead after one quarter and a 17-9 advantage at the half. But the Lady Pirates broke the game open in the third quarter, outscoring Community R-VI 16-0 to take a 33-9 advantage into the final period.
Miranda Brandt led three Chamois players in double figures with 14 points. Allison Mehmert and Alyssa Bullock added 12 points each.
Chamois (19-7) will play Glasgow for the title at 6 p.m. Friday.
