COLUMBIA - Less than 30 minutes after Missouri knocked off fifth-ranked Florida, Missouri coach Frank Haith said he received a notice of allegations from the NCAA regarding his role in the NCAA's investigation at Miami.
But Haith said there was no unethical conduct reported in his notice, meaning, whatever the allegations are, they could be less severe than once thought.
He received the notice prior to Missouri's win against Florida and the details were not immediately released.
"It is just an allegation, so we get a chance to defend ourselves," Haith said.
Haith had been accused of having knowledge of a $10,000 payment to former Miami player DeQuan Jones during Haith's tenure as Miami's coach.
Missouri athletic director Mike Alden said he has not seen the notice but will go through it with Haith.
"We haven't seen it," Haith said. "He just showed us before the press conference."
Alden said he's glad the process is getting closer to a resolution after dragging on for nearly 20 months.
