William Woods drops pair of contests

CLAREMORE, Okla. - The William Woods softball team dropped to 0-4 on the season after dropping both halves of a doubleheader with Rogers State on Sunday.

The Owls outhit Rogers State in the opener 5-4, but gave up two home runs and lost by a 3-0 score.

MacKenzie Bowden (Jefferson City High School) took the loss for William Woods, throwing a seven innings. All three runs were earned and she struck out 10.

In the second game, Rogers State pounded out 15 hits and took an 11-4 decision.

Shelby LeCuru (Helias High School) had a pair of hits and one RBI for the Owls, while Lindsey LeCuru (Helias High School) smacked a solo home run.

William Woods will return to action at 2 p.m. Friday when it hosts Olivet Nazarene.
