JC woman charged with growing marijuana in her home

Monday , the Jefferson City Police Department responded to the 800 block of Crestmere for an investigation of a marijuana growing operation from within a residence.

Jefferson City Police Department Narcotics Officers and Community Action Team Officers served a search warrant at the residence, which resulted in the confiscation of a number of marijuana plants, an in-home greenhouse, and many other evidentiary items associated with an active home marijuana grow operation.

The resident, Angela Parker, age 38, was arrested for Distribute/Deliver/Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance, along with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance. She was transported to the Cole County Sheriff's Department for processing.

In addition, the Department of Social Services, Children's Division, was called to the residence due to the living conditions and a child present.
