New Bloomfield man given probation for DWI

A New Bloomfield man was recently placed on five years supervised probation for pleading guilty to driving while intoxicated that resulted in an accident in October 2011.

Kevin Verslues, 46, was charged in Cole County Circuit Court with DWI persistent offender and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol report, a 1999 Harley-Davidson, driven southbound by Verslues, ran off the left side of Route J, north of Algoa Road in Cole County, and overturned, ejecting Verslues.

He was taken to St. Mary's Health Center for treatment of minor injuries.

In a separate Cole County case, charges of second-degree domestic violence and armed criminal action were recently dismissed against a Jefferson City man. Norman Gorris, 64, was charged in October 2012.
