With the secretary of defense along with the chairman of the joint chief's announcing that women were now going to be able to be members of front line infantry units, how long will it be until we will no longer have a separation between men and women in all athletics?
During an interview, a retired colonel who happens to be a woman, and was a combat fighter pilot that flew many combat missions in the Middle East, said that women ought to be able to at least try out for these units as there were no differences between the sexes! As a matter of fact, she had competed in a triathlon against men, and won.
After hearing what she said, I assume that it will only be a matter of time that our political leaders will somehow pass a law requiring all schools to eliminate the disparity in athletic programs and merge the women and men programs into just one.
By the way, why are all the do-gooders in Hollywood, distinguishing between men and women in the of SAG, Tony, People's Choice, and Academy awards, if there is no difference?
When was the last time you observed a woman competing against men in track and field during the Olympic Games? How about swimming? Are there any women that could have beaten Michel Phelps? I don't think so. How about beating Usain Bolt in the 100 meter dash? These people can't be serious that there is no difference between men and women.
There are some women that can and do excel at these things more than some men; however the best women will not be able to compete with the best men, as can be observed with the world records of women and men in all athletic events.
Men can run faster, jump higher and further, swim faster, throw things farther, because of the differences between men and women. I don't include such obvious physical differences associated with reproduction. It would be quite different to see women competing with men on the football field or on the hockey rink.
