CARTHAGE, Mo. (AP) - An infant is the only survivor of a traffic accident in southwest Missouri that killed the drivers of the two vehicles involved.
The Missouri Highway Patrol says Hayven Cartwright, who is less than year old, survived the head-on crash Wednesday night on a rural road near Carthage.
The patrol says the child is being cared for by a relative.
The patrol says a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Brandon S. Stuckey of Belleville, Ill. crossed the center line and hit a vehicle carrying Hayven that was driven by 48-year-old Julie G. Cartwright of Joplin. Both drivers died at the scene.
The relationship between Cartwright and Hayven was not immediately clear.
