Two lines of children's dresser's that pose a risk of tipping over and injuring or killing children are among this week's recalled consumer products. Magnet sets that can be dangerous if swallowed and defective child-proof containers for vitamins and medication are also being recalled.
DETAILS: Four-drawer dressers made by Million Dollar Baby. They include the "Emily" style with M4712, M4722, M4732, and M4742 and similar "Ryan" dressers with the model M4733. The dressers were sold in five finishes: Cherry, Ebony, Espresso, Honey Oak and White. The model number, "Million Dollar Baby" and "MADE IN TAIWAN" are printed on a label located on the back of the dresser. They are part of the DaVinci children's bedroom furniture collection. The dressers were sold from Jan. 2006 through June 2010.
WHY: When a young child climbs up on open dresser drawers, the dresser becomes unstable and poses the risk of tipping over and hurting the child. Million Dollar Baby is offering free retrofit kits with tip-over restraints to consumers who have older dressers. Included in the kit is an adhesive warning label that consumers are to attach to the dresser, which describes how to prevent tip-over injuries.
INCIDENTS: Two reports of deaths associated with these dressers. An 11-month-old boy from Tulsa, Okla., and a 20-month-old girl from Camarillo, Calif., were reported to have suffocated when their dressers tipped over, trapping them between the dresser and the floor.

DETAILS: Can-Am Commander side-by-side vehicles, including 2011, 2012, and early 2013 models. The model name is printed on the vehicle's side panel. The 2011 models included in the recall are the Commander 800R and 1000, Commander XT 800R and 1000, and the Commander X1000. The 2012 models are the Commander 800R and 1000, the XT800R and 1000, the X1000, and the limited 1000. The 2013 models include the 800R and 1000, the XT800R and 1000, the X1000, the limited 1000, and the DPS 800R and 1000.
WHY: Debris such as leaves, hay and, grass in wet terrain areas can collect in the vehicle's exhaust pipe area in a short period of time. A hot exhaust pipe and accumulated dry debris poses a fire risk.
INCIDENTS: 18 reports of fires related to accumulated debris in the exhaust pipe area, including one minor burn to the hand.

DETAILS: Columbia Omni-Heat men's and women's electric heated jackets. They are polyester and have the Columbia name printed on the front upper left side. The jackets have two battery packs located in inner pouches. The recall includes the following men's jackets: Circuit Breaker II Jacket with model number SM7051, Electro AMP Jacket with model number SM7061, Electro Interchange Jacket with model number SM7886, and Electric Big Game Interchange Jacket with model number HM7198. The recall also includes the following women's jackets: Circuit Breaker II Jacket with model number SL7022, Electro AMP Jacket with model number SL7021, and Electro Interchange Jacket with model number SL7885.
WHY: The heated inner wrist cuff can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
INCIDENTS: No incidents of jacket wrist cuffs overheating were reported in the U.S. The firm received reports of one incident in Europe and one in Canada. No injuries were reported.

DETAILS: Natart Chelsea three-drawer windowed dresser bearing model number 3033. The dressers were sold in five finishes Cappuccino, Cappuccino with a brown top, Ebony, Ebony with a brown top, and Antique or French White. A sticker with the word "Natart" and the firm's logo is affixed to the inside of the top drawer. In addition, most dressers will have the model number, "Natart Juvenile," ''Made in Canada" and "Chelsea 3 Drawer Dresser" printed on another label located on the back of the dresser. The dresser is part of the Chelsea children's bedroom furniture collection. They were sold from Jan. 2005 to Dec. 2010.
WHY: If a young child climbs up open dresser drawers, the dresser can tip over and pose a risk of entrapment.
INCIDENTS: A report of a two-year-old boy from Barrington, Ill., who reportedly suffocated when he climbed on or up an open lower drawer into the second dresser drawer, causing the dresser to fall and entrap the child between the unit and the floor.

DETAILS: Sportspower BouncePro 14-foot trampolines. The recall is an expansion of a May 2012 recall. The updated recall involves trampolines model TR-1686-TPR. UPC code 687064045552 or 687064042100 is printed on the product's box. Sportspower BouncePro 14 is printed on a plate on the leg of the trampoline frame. The trampolines are surrounded by enclosure netting on the perimeter of the trampoline measuring about six feet high. They were sold exclusively at Wal-Mart Stores Inc. from Feb. 2009 through March 2011.
WHY: The enclosure netting surrounding the trampolines can break, allowing children to fall through the netting and be injured.
INCIDENTS: Sportspower has received an additional nine reports of the enclosure netting breaking since the May 2012 recall. There have been five reports of injuries including broken bones, back and neck injuries and bruises.

DETAILS: Magnet Balls Manipulative Magnet sets made by SCS Direct Inc. The Original and Rainbow Bright interactive magnet sets were sold in a cylindrical silver tin. Each puzzle set contains 216 spherical high-powered magnets that are 5 millimeters in diameter. The magnets were sold in silver and multi-color sets on Amazon.com from Aug. 2010 through May 2012.
WHY: When two or more magnets are swallowed, they can link together inside a child's intestines and clamp onto body tissues, causing intestinal obstructions, perforations, sepsis, and death. Internal injury from magnets can pose serious lifelong health effects.
INCIDENTS: No incidents or injuries have been reported to SCS Direct, but the Consumer Product Safety Commission has received 80 reports of incidents involving ingestion of other high powered magnets, resulting in 79 reports seeking medical intervention.

DETAILS: This recall involves a Twin-over-Twin model 341-33, and a Twin-over-Futon model 344-54 bunk beds imported by World Imports Ltd. Both models have wooden corner posts in a dark finish with wrought iron end structures on the headboards and footboards. A label on the interior surface of the corner post has "DISTRIBUTOR: WORLD IMPORTS" and the model number printed on it. They were sold from Aug. 2009 to Feb. 2012.
WHY: The openings between the metal rails of the end structures are greater than allowed in the standard and pose a risk of entrapment or asphyxiation.

DETAILS: MegaFood One Daily Supplement Bottles made by FoodState Inc. They are brown glass bottles that contain MegaFood One Daily Tablets. The bottles have a yellow label on the front with the words "MegaFood," ''Fresh From Farm To Tablet," ''One Daily," ''Nourish," ''Balance" and "Replenish" printed above a picture of vegetables. Recalled bottles have the following amounts, product codes and lot numbers: 60 tablets with product code 51494 10151, 90 tablets with 51494 10152, and 180 tablets with 51494 10153. They were sold at Sprouts Farmers Market, Vitamin Cottage, Whole Foods Market, and other natural food stores nationwide from June 2012 to Oct. 2012.
WHY: The packaging is not child-resistant as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. The supplement tablets inside the bottle contain iron, which can cause serious injury or death to young children if multiple tablets are ingested at once.
INCIDENTS: None reported.

TRIAMINIC AND THERAFLU PRODUCTS
DETAILS: Triaminic Syrups and Theraflu Warming Relief Syrups for coughs, colds and fevers. There are 24 types of these two products included in the recall. A complete list of products, lot numbers and National Drug Codes can be found at www.novartisOTC.com . Lot numbers are located on the bottom panel of the box and on the left side of the label on the bottle. The NDC number is located on the upper right corner of the front panel of the Triaminic Syrups box and the upper left corner of the Theraflu Warming Relief Syrups bottle. They were sold between May 2010 and Dec. 2011.
WHY: The child-resistant caps can fail to function properly and enable the cap to be removed by a child with the tamper-evident seal in place, posing a risk of unintentional ingestion and poisoning. These products contain acetaminophen and diphenhydramine which are required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act to be sealed with child-resistant packaging.
INCIDENTS: 12 reports of children unscrewing the locked caps, including four reports of children ingesting the product. One child required medical attention.
