The last time anyone saw Dylan Gish play a varsity game for the Helias Crusaders, it was March 2, 2011.
Gish had just wrapped up a stellar sophomore season, the second straight year he had started at point guard for the Crusaders, with nine points on 4-of-7 shooting in a loss to St. Francis Borgia in the Class 4 sectional round.
Fast-forward almost two calendar years, and Helias fans haven't seen that sight since. That's thanks to two ACL tears to his right knee - one in the summer of 2011 that cost him the 2011-12 season and one this past summer that sidelined him again.
That all ends tonight, as the 6-foot senior will see playing time when Helias goes on the road for a game at Soldan, the defending Class 4 state champions.
