Two area residents hurt in accidents

A Belle man was injured in a one-car accident at 10:20 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 63 north of Route E in Osage County.

According to the Highway Patrol report a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am, driven northbound by Christopher A. Viele, 21, went off the right side of the road, struck a sign and embankment, went airborne, landed upright and overturned.

Viele was taken to Capital Region Medical Center.

He was wearing a seat belt.

A Jamestown woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 10:55 a.m. Monday on Northridge Road west of Nine Hills Road in Cole County.

The patrol reported a 2000 Ford Ranger, driven westbound by Cindy Sedgwick, 52, lost control on the ice-covered road, causing the vehicle to go off the right side of the road and overturn.

Sedgwick was taken to St. Mary's Health Center.

She was not wearing a seat belt.
