Balanced effort leads Helias past Bishop Kelly

SHAWNEE MISSION, Kan. - The Helias Crusaders used a balanced effort to defeat Bishop Kelly of Tulsa, Okla., 63-55 in the loser's bracket semifinals of the Sportscare Public vs. Private Shootout on Friday.

Isiah Sykes paced the Crusaders with 25 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Hale Hentges chipped in 12 points, while Michael Tannehill and Sam Husting both added 10.

Helias led 8-6 after one quarter, extended its advantage to 34-21 at halftime and took a 50-37 edge into the final period.

Helias (2-1) plays Shawnee Mission North in today's fifth-place game.

Helias had dropped a 70-43 decision to Shawnee Mission East in Thursday's opening round. Sykes led the Crusaders with 14 points, while Hentges added 12.
