Falcons, Eagles advance to title game

EUGENE, Mo. - The Blair Oaks Falcons and the Eugene Eagles will square off tonight for the Eugene Tournament title after semifinal victories Thursday.

The Falcons had three players in double figures Thursday in a 72-61 victory against the California Pintos.

Kory Franks finished with 23 points to pace the Falcons (2-0), who led 21-14 after one quarter and 37-32 at intermission. Ryan Wilbers added 14, while Seth Eskens chipped in with 12.

Dylan Albertson had 23 points to lead California (1-1).

In the late game, Cody Shaw and Tyler Kempker had 16 points each for Eugene in its 61-41 victory against Versailles.

Cameron Massman added 11 points for the Eagles, who stretched a 24-16 halftime lead into a 44-30 advantage heading into the final period.

Trey Woods finished with 14 points for Versailles, who wil face off against California today in the 6 p.m. third-place game.

In the fifth-place game played Thursday, the School of the Osage Indians vaulted to a 16-3 lead after one quarter and defeated the St. Elizabeth Hornets 59-35.

Hayden Drace had 20 points to lead Osage. Collin Samuelson added 15, while Dylan Jeffries added 10.

Braydon Holtmeyer had 20 points for St. Elizabeth (1-3), who will host Newburg on Tuesday. Brian Wilde chipped in with 10.

In the girls fourth-place game Thursday, Russellville defeated Eugene. A final score was unavailable.
