Your Opinion: Deciding what is constitutional

Dear Editor:

I read with interest the letter of Mike Bruenger that Tea Party members merely want to follow the Constitution.

The difficulty that I have faced with some members of the Tea Party is that they believe they are the individual that decides what the Constitution and laws mean. Frequently they will complain to me that they are upset with a court because "it has not followed the Constitution."

It is my opinion that if you support the Constitution then you must accept the fact that courts are the body to decide what laws mean.

A society where each individual believes they are the final interpreter of the Constitution is not a constitutional form of government but anarchy.
