Lady Crusaders down Mexico 9-0 in tennis

Not much went wrong for the Helias tennis team Wednesday.

The Lady Crusaders picked up their first win of the season with a 9-0 victory against Mexcio on Thursday at Washington Park.

Picking up wins for Helias in singles action were Ashley Dowden (10-0), Abbey Verslues (10-4), Mary Conley (10-0), Lauren Highfill (10-0), Becca Shelton (won by injury default 8-2) and Casey Clogston (10-0).

The Lady Crusaders swept the doubles portion. Dowden and Conley won 10-1, Verslues and Clogston won 10-1 and Highfill and Shelton won 10-0. Helias swept the JV portion of the match.

The Lady Crusaders (1-1) play again today at Waynesville.
