JC man sentenced in JCMG burglary

A Jefferson City resident has been placed on five years supervised probation after pleading guilty to burglarizing Jefferson City Medical Group over the Fourth of July weekend.

Courtney Cox, 31, of 211 McKinley St., was charged with one count of second-degree burglary.

He must also serve a 15-day shock detention sentence in the Cole County Jail.

Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statements show Cox was seen on video entering the building on West Stadium Boulevard.

Cox was eventually seen leaving the building with more than $5,000 in electronic equipment.

He was arrested a few days before this incident in connection with four other theft cases.

Cox told police he was stealing items to sell for food and narcotics.
