Dear Editor:
As an animal and nature lover I am writing in support of doing away with the gas chamber at the Jefferson City Animal Shelter.
The gas chamber has been proven to be extremely inhumane. Why euthanize feral cats and dogs when we have the Wild Thing Program and the SNAP program?
Spaying and neutering our cats and dogs is the most effective tool for animal control.
I think it is important to rehome pets, educate the public and encourage people to be more compassionate to all creatures. Instead it seems we are needlessly fighting about something that can actually be discontinued and changed tomorrow!
