Two-county rash of thefts ends with car chase, arrests

A string of thefts and burglaries in Osage and Gasconade counties led to a search warrant, resulting in a car chase and three arrests on Tuesday, and one more man taken into custody on Thursday.

Around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the Osage County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at 10482 Missouri 100, along with deputies from the Gasconade County Sheriff's Office and officers from the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group.

Osage County Sheriff Michael Dixon said his office had been working closely with the Gasconade County Sheriff's Office after burglaries and thefts occurred in the Morrison and Chamois area.

Deputies found stolen property during the search, including a tractor and a firearm.

While executing the search warrant, a vehicle fled from deputies, but after a brief chase, the vehicle was located on Cherry Street in Chamois.

Jimmy Brown, 32, and Joshwa Haddox, 27, were taken into custody for resisting arrest.

Deputies also arrested Billy McCrocklin, 29, and charged him with unlawful possession of a firearm and receiving stolen property.

On Thursday, the fourth suspect, David McCrocklin, 27, was taken into custody by the Union Police Department.
