A chase early Saturday morning led to the arrest of three Callaway County residents, the Callaway County Sheriff's Office said.
About 1:39 a.m., a sheriff's deputy observed a van driving down County Road 371. The deputy recognized the van as belonging to Tricia L. Strange, 36, Holts Summit, who had a felony parole absconder warrant for her arrest.
The deputy followed the vehicle to 9970 Tux Place, near New Bloomfield, before activating a spotlight and sirens, at which point Strange and two passengers allegedly fled on foot.
Strange was taken into custody after a foot chase, according to a press release, and deputies said she had a backpack in her possession that carried numerous plastic bags containing methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.
One of Strange's passengers, Brittany R. Roe, 27, Fulton, was found shortly thereafter by deputies. Deputies say Roe threw a backpack containing drug paraphernalia over a fence.
The sheriff's office also claims the third passenger, Markus J. Berry, 31, Fulton, eluded deputies until 6:52 a.m. when an off-duty Holts Summit police officer observed him walking along U.S. 54. Deputies arrived shortly thereafter and Berry resisted arrest at that time before being taken into custody.
In addition to her parole warrant, for which there is no bond, Strange faces charges of resisting arrest for a felony, hindering prosecution of a felony, possession and of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. She will remain in custody at the Callaway County Jail until she is transferred to the Department of Corrections.
Roe was charged with unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and has posted bond.
Berry remains in custody on a $9,000 cash-only bond for two counts of felony resisting arrest, as well as on an $11,500 surety bond for three outstanding Callaway County failure to appear warrants.
