St. Louis area man gets probation for crashing into police car

A Webster Groves man has been placed on five years supervised probation for pleading guilty to charges in connection with failing to stop at a stop sign and striking a Jefferson City policeman's vehicle in February.

Cory Ingram, 23, had been charged with second-degree assault, leaving the scene of an accident, driving while revoked and DWI.

The accident occurred as the officer was driving a marked police vehicle eastbound in the 900 block of East McCarty Street.

Ingram was traveling southbound from the 300 block of Locust Street at an excessive rate of speed and failed to stop at the stop sign at Locust and East McCarty, colliding with the police vehicle.

Ingram sped away from the scene of the accident, but was quickly apprehended a few blocks away.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage.

The officer was treated for non-life threatening injuries

Ingram "s blood alcohol content level was .187. He was not injured.
