Your Opinion: Response to Haslag's "progressive' proposals

Dear Editor:

I guess our education system just hasn't been as successful in liberal indoctrination as Mr. Haslag has wanted since he now must write his weekly liberal socialist (progressive) propaganda letters to try to convince we conservatives there is really pie in the sky.

Of course that's the way they do it, convince the uninformed, whether it be young impressionable students or immature and/or government dependent adults that government is the solution to everything. The problem is they always seem to omit the economics of their utopian ideas.

For 190 years America has been successful in transforming the world by protecting freedoms and providing life-improving changes in education, medicine, etc. Of course that was before the slippery slope takeover of our educational system by the liberal socialists (progressives) starting in the 1960s. Now, 50 years later, self reliant, patriotic Constitution supporters have seemingly become a minority and are subjected to a dictatorial leadership whose goal appears to be total government control of our lives.

I don't seem to be able to remember much of what Haslag writes, but I don't recall him explaining how all these wonderful programs are paid for? Of course the government can print money like they are doing now to keep Mr. Obama's failed economy afloat.

One wonders now how the new Fed chairperson will deal with this disastrous policy and how this addiction will be stopped. The other way is to just keep raising taxes.

This has its problems when the jobs that people do which generates the taxes goes away as it is doing now. What should liberals do? Haslag's approach is to repackage the failed socialist (progressive) program rhetoric, throw it against the wall and see if it sticks. The shame of it is, if a lie is told enough times to enough people it starts to be believed.

What's happening in Jefferson City? Why's RR Donnelley moving out? Could it be the wonderful liberal Democrat (progressive) program Obamacare has something to do with it? Or could it be some of the other government suppressive regulations or requirements? Of course we can't overlook the negative effect of Democrat supported unions in cost of government and doing business either.

You see Mr. Haslag, life is just more complicated than just sitting back and faulting a state or business or conservative just because they choose to exist responsibly instead of in a dream world.
