A human error caused a minutes-long Internet service outage in downtown Jefferson City on Tuesday morning, Greg Baker, a CenturyLink spokesman said.
There was no connection to the Internet service outage and the morning's thunderstorms.
"The outage was caused by the removal of a "card' in a unit," he said, after getting reports from technical and repair crews.
The card was reinstalled immediately, Baker said.
"The outage may have lasted a few minutes," he said. "It probably affected less than 200 customers."
