One arrested in JC stabbing

At about 2:15 a.m. Monday morning, officers were sent to Broadway Street and W. Atchison Street regarding a 911 hang up call.

A second call came in and officers could hear screaming from the area of 815 Washington Street.

A female victim was located in the middle of the street bleeding from three stab wounds.

The suspect was located in the parking lot behind 815 Washington and had been stabbed in the head with a screw driver.

A witness advised that the suspect was seen dragging the victim down the stairs from 815 Washington while stabbing her.

The witness advised out of self-defense the victim stabbed the suspect in the head.

Both the suspect and victim were transported to separate area hospitals where they received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect, Willie Harrison, 50, was then transported to the Cole County Jail and is awaiting charges of second-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action.
