Two local teens get probation for robbery attempt

Two Jefferson City teenagers, charged with attempting to rob an individual in January, have been placed on five years supervised probation.

Mark Cavin III, 18, of 6811 Silo Lane, and Marqukis Harris, 17, of 1325 Grandview, both pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery.

As part of their probation, Cavin and Hayes must also perform 100 hours of community service and attain their high school diploma.

Jefferson City police said Cavin helped plan to rob the victim at a residence in the 1700 block of West McCarty Street.

Court documents show Cavin brought a plastic gun and a black ski mask to the robbery, and that he was to be a lookout while the others robbed the victim.

Police said Hayes admitted to helping plan the robbery and carrying a gun to scare the victim, and planned on using it once they had gotten inside the house.
