Russellville woman gets probation for child endangerment

A Russellville woman charged with the abuse of a 2-year-old boy in June 2012 has been placed under five years supervised probation for pleading guilty to an amended charge.

Lexi Nicole Miller, 22, was charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child. She had been charged with felony abuse of a child.

Probable-cause statements from the Cole County Sheriff's Department listed several complaints of abuse occurring at a residence in the 4800 block of Marion Street.

The child was found to have a golf-ball sized knot on his forehead, a cut under his chin and a blackened right eye among his injuries.

Miller told a Family Services Division worker the injuries were the result of discipline and she had caused the injuries because the child was argumentative and would not listen to her.
