The YMCA is holding a community water safety day from 10 a.m.-noon April 20 in Jefferson City at Knowles YMCA, 424 Stadium Blvd.
The event is designed to teach children how to keep safe around water.
Missouri State Water Patrol, Cole County Sheriff's Department, SCUBA Adventure, Barracuda Swim Team, Community Health Care, Missouri Department of Transportation, Jefferson City Fire Department, Pool Safely and Missouri National Guard will have representatives in attendance to answer questions.
There will be free 30-minute swimming lesson classes from 1:30-4 p.m.
Children must be registered by Monday.
