Incumbent, newcomer win Russellville school board seats

RUSSELLVILLE, Mo. - The close race for the Cole County R-1 School Board re-elected Mike Bungart and voted in Shawn Ehrhardt.

Voters from Cole and Moniteau counties cast 172 votes for Ehrhardt, 172 for Bungart and 145 for Rodney Edwards.

Proud of the Russellville school's progress, particularly in leadership and the development of the track, Bungart, 48, said he is looking forward to "keeping the school in good shape."

"It's pretty exciting to be able to serve on the board," said Ehrhardt, 38.

As a financial adviser for a Jefferson City bank, Ehrhardt said "I thought I could come and give some insight on the financial side."

Ehrhardt will fill the seat vacated by board vice president William Kautsch, who did not seek re-election.

The school board will reorganize April 16.
